Jonny Wallis is a fun, lively and charismatic singer songwriter from Derby. Known for his heartfelt songs about family, friends and his political beliefs, he has become a popular character at many festivals and events across the country. Jonny is also the front man of the folk-rock band The Newcranes and one half of the popular duo, The Fox and The Pirate.
Son of the popular singer Carl Patrick, Jonny has always had a passion for music and performing. Becoming a Bluecoat in his early twenties, he spent many years as lead male vocalist and dancer.
In 2010, following the death of his father, he formed the folk/rock band 3 Eyed Fox. During this time he enjoyed many gigs across the country and supported the likes of Jonn Gomm and 3 Daft Monkeys. Jonny was also invited to sing with the Levellers at Rock City, Notts, on their "Static On The Airwaves" tour.
In 2014 following a serious accident at Beautiful Days Festival, the band were invited to record the song "Julie", on a charity album "Bostin Days", and to also perform the festival of the same name.
In 2016 the band decided to go their separate ways leading to Jonny embarking on his solo career and writing and releasing his debut EP "The Year Of The Fox". In this time he has enjoyed playing many festivals including Lakefest, Something To Smile About and is a regular artist at the popular Midlands festival Rockstock and Barrel. He has also supported many artists including Ferocious Dog, The Leylines and Gaz Brookfield.
Also in late 2016, Jonny formed an unlikely duo with singer songwriter Brian Stone. Calling themselves "The Fox And The Pirate", the duo have taken the festival circuit by storm. In 2017 they headlined the Bandstand Stage at Beautiful Days Festival.
